Celtic fans are being too harsh on Brendan Rodgers following his move to Leicester, according to former Hoops striker Tony Cascarino.The new Foxes boss left Celtic Park out of the blue on Tuesday, leaving the Hoops in the middle of their bid to complete another treble.Rodgers enjoyed incredible success with the Glasgow club following his appointment in May 2016, winning back-to-back domestic trebles.2

But the timing of the decision has caused aggravation among Celtic fans, who have questioned the loyalty of their former manager.And Cascarino believes it is unfair to call Rodgers a traitor for moving on.He told talkSPORT: There was probably a bit of frustration from Brendan with where Celtic was heading.Celtic fans are like all fans, if you leave their football club, they think its the bees-knees and everythings about their football club.Because he leaves, hes some sort of traitor and thats unfair on Brendan. Rodgers returns to the Premier League after a four- year absence, previously coming agonisingly close to winning the title with Liverpool in 2014.And Cascarino believes the Northern Irishman deserves a fresh challenge.He added: I think the timing is a bit strange, when theyre still fighting for the title with Rangers, but theyre probably still going to win it anyway.The lure of the Premier League is just massive. Brendan has got a new challenge and maybe he felt like he needed one.2
