Alex McLeish will be sacked as Scotland manager in the next 24 hours, according to reports.The Daily Record have stated Scottish Football Association chief executive Ian Maxwell will meet with McLeish and relieve him of his duties following nightmarish displays against Kazakhstan and San Marino.1

Scotland were humiliated last Thursday when they were thrashed 3-0 by Kazakhstan in what has been described as one of the worst results in the national team’s history.They then put in an underwhelming performance against the world’s lowest ranked national team, San Marino, but scraped a 2-0 win over the European minnows.

Despite successfully guiding Scotland to a play-off spot for the Euros through the Nations League, former Birmingham and Aston Villa boss McLeish was already in a precarious position as he has struggled to win over the confidence of the players as well as the Tartan Army since succeeding Gordon Strachan 13 months ago.
